Yummy Dinner!
5:39 AM
The Yummy.
Today, one of our co-teachers took us out to dinner. It was so nice of her! She is really close to one of our other friends who actually used to work at our hagwon so it was pretty special to get to spend some time with her in person (we've heard so much about her).
She took us to a Vietnamese restaurant in an area of Bundang called Pangyo. It's apparently a recently-developed area and has a very nice "mall" of sorts (Avenue France) that's packed full of restaurants, cafés and high-end stores. It's probably the most polished area I've seen since my arrival in South Korea and it was certainly a change of scenery compared to where we live (although we are not in a bad part of town or anything like that). It was just trendy and clean.
The food was delicious. I'm not even sure what it was called but (as you can see in the picture) we ordered a platter that had many different vegetables and other fillings on it. Then, what you do is take the circular rice noodles (or "shells") and soak them in a bowl of warm water for a few seconds. Once they have softened up a bit you can put them on your plate and place whatever ingredients you want inside from the platter. Finally, you fold it up like a burrito and dig in. So. Yummy.
Our co-teacher's kids where there too (she has a daughter and a son who both attend our school, so we knew them already) and it was just a very nice dinner as well as a great way to end the evening.
Now I'm very tired. I really don't want to go to work in the morning.
Tomorrow is Friday. Tomorrow is Friday. Tomorrow is Friday..........
