Changdeok Palace, the Secret Garden and Halloween

Cheese!

Last Sunday, Jenee and I went to Changdeok Palace with a group from our church. It was our second time there (our first being when we went during Chuseok) but we didn't get to see much of it originally because it was too busy so we wanted to go back.

This time was much nicer and we had the beautiful fall scenery to enhance our experience so I'm really glad we went again.

Plus, we were also able to do the Secret Garden tour which is an extension of the palace and actually used to be the royal family's own private garden (hence the "secret"). This was the perfect time to go because of the leaves changing color and we also had an English tour guide with us so we got a good history lesson as well.

It was really nice to get back up to Seoul but a little odd since we don't usually go out on Sundays (because of the long commute, mostly). An hour or so on the subway didn't use to sound so long but now it's like forever. Funny how that changes!

As for school related news, Thursday was Halloween so our school celebrated the holiday with both our afternoon and morning (kindergarten) classes. Teachers were all asked to dress up so Jenee and I ordered our "costumes" from gmarket (kind of like Korea's version of Amazon) a few weeks ago in preparation.

I say "costumes" because actually they are pajamas...animal pajamas. But they are comfortable and warm so they make a perfect Halloween costume!

Everyone dressed up it was actually really fun. I got to be a flying-squirrel and Jenee was a panda. I think I'm sort of in love with these pajamas and I'm pretty sure I may leave South Korea with more than just one of them!
